Movement Research Performance Journal Issue 55: no before no after is the first issue produced under new co-Editors-in-Chief mayfield brooks and Joshua Lubin-Levy, continuing MRPJ's legacy of engaging contemporary choreography and performance through poem, prose, image, interview, and a wide range of formats. Produced in the wake of global Black Lives Matter uprisings and the Covid-19 pandemic, the issue refuses the institutional impulse to simply adapt and carry on — instead asking how performance communities might resist the push to reopen, embrace decomposition and decay, and find the repair made possible in coming undone.
